Ok so I lost my job after working for the company for 5 years and now I'm behind on my rent, car note, phone bill and other stuff, never been in this position before, I find myself doing freelance graphic design work, had a few people order facebook fanpage designs but never paid me the $200 I charge so I find myself seeking financial help here, if anyone can help I would be greatly appreciative, also if you need a facebook fanpage design I can do that to, I do have a paypal account the email address is lamarrwatts@yahoo.com Thanks
I am excited about the charitable group that I started called "Afghans 4 Autism". So far, I have promoted this group here and on facebook, wishuponahero, blogger, and I'm sure there will be many more places under the same name. I know how much my 3 special needs daughters love their afghans so let's start matching up other autistic people with a gift of comfort and warmth made by lots of love!!!
I started a group called "Afghans 4 Autism" and we are on facebook, wishuponahero and blogger.com so if you know anyone that could benefit from this charity, come join us! Love ya'll!
I was a Captain in Missouri corrections. I was taught in the academy to be firm fair and consistant. Treat offenders fairly. Some will be back in society and we have to rehabilitate them. No rehabilitation is possible with companies unwilling to hire ex felons. I married an ex felon approximately two years after resigning. After being released she has been trusted with other families elderly, handled money and deposited money for Hardees as a shift manager, and ran a small day care in home with the trust of families. Therefore society has trusted her with there mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, and money. But she is not allowed to work in a factory where nothing as precious as these subjects exist. Where is the justice. It is and remains discrimination point blank! I have worked in these same factories. There is nothing in these factories as important as children, Parents, grandparents, and even money. How is this justified.
I created a group on Facebook called Second Chances for Former Felons. The idea behind the group is based on the belief that not everyone with a conviction on their record is a criminal. They do not regualrly steal, sell drugs, etc. The group excludes sex offenders and violent offenders.
A very real and simple (personal) example is an 18 year old young man gets in a stolen car with some friends after succumbing to peer pressure. Eventually gets pulled over and has a felony receiving stolen property conviction on his criminal record. Seventeen years later he attempts a career change and is denied the job after scoring exceptionally high on every apptitude test and does very well in three interveiws but can not be hired due to corporate policy. He is forever labeled a theif when in reality he never stole in his adult life.
The ultimate goal of the group is to introduce legislation in all 50 states and nationally that would expunge certain offenses meeting certain criteria after a set period of time with no new arrests. Some states already have an expungement process but it is very rare for adult crimes. All offer pardons but that does not eliminate the record. Just states it was pardoned.
So we are at the moment a grass roots movement looking for members. Active members are great. Non active members are welcome for support.
The link is above. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to see you soon.

Thank you both for your positive feedback. I hope the everyone can read this and walk away with even just a reminder that they should be careful of what they post. I would hate to see anyone lose anything simply because they vented to the wrong person! While writing the post, I have to admit, there were a few things I had to remind myself!
Great post ... I "knew" many of these points, although I cannot say that I completely follow the rules/advice you have laid out, and others, ... well, I simply never even gave them a second thought. Perhaps part of it is just naivety, or not wanting to believe that others - out there in the big bad world of the internet - are willing to go as far as some do. I think some of us, myself included, tend to believe that everyone carries the same values, beliefs, etc., and therefore, will show another this certain level of kindness, honesty, and so on, without giving it a second thought ... that is, until something goes wrong.
This type of behavior has taught me some tough, yet important lessons, and I must say that it is nice to have a reminder from you regarding protecting one's self on the internet. While I do feel that the core majority of folks here on Aidpage are very much like a family (and we tend to feel more comfortable with family - well, at least that's the hope), it's an important reality check to remember that ultimately we do not know each other beyond the cyber world.
So, thank you for taking the time to write this post, sharing your thoughts, knowledge, ideas, etc., ... I am sure that it will be helpful for more than just myself.
When most people post on sites like Aidpage, Twitter, or Facebook, we think we are among friends. We can voice our opinions, tell jokes, and basically be ourselves under the cloak of anonymity to the rest of the internet. However, when applying for that new job, or even in our current positions, how many of us give a thought to our current (or potential) employers. Do we think they may be reading what we write, or how we present ourselves?
That’s right! More and more employers are going online to check out their current and future employees.
While you may say you have a constitutional right to voice your opinion, if you are bad mouthing your employer, what makes them think you are going to be a valuable employee?
You also have a right to privacy. Keep it that way. Any posts or pictures you put online are there for everyone to see – keep your profile private. How many remember when little Caylee Anthony went missing? Within days we all saw pictures of her mother partying with friends, even though her daughter was gone - all because she posted them online. She didn’t look very convincing as a grieving mother then.
Remember big brother IS watching. A little information goes a long way. Even keeping your opinions private may not help matters. A private text to a friend (or frenemy) could always be intercepted or inadvertently sent to the wrong person – ever hit the “reply all” button by accident? It could mean the difference between your next paycheck and the unemployment line.
Stranger – DANGER! Collection agencies are getting in on the act too. Several years ago, when I worked as a skip tracer, we had state of the art equipment to track down debtors. Today, all anyone needs is an internet connection. While they may not contact you on a social media page, they can keep track of your postings. Plus, they can assume an identity and befriend you to collect even more information. If you are planning on making a large purchase, or already have, do NOT announce it to the world!
Do NOT recycle! Are your passwords the same every time, for every site? If your Id, passwords, and security questions are repetitive, change them up and write them down! While security measures are getting more complex for sites, and more confusing for users, if you continually re-use the same information, it is only a matter of time before someone discovers your secret and hacks your accounts. Also, if the information is optional, it means just that – optional! It is NOT required to have an account. DO NOT FILL IT OUT! No one needs that much information about you.
Just remember a little common sense can go a very long way…
